At last, I got around looking at my Isle of Dogs photos from the past years. It's no longer where I live, so it has some nostalgia value to me now. Some COVID-era shots among these.

The tidal River Thames and the O2 Arena seen from the Isle of Dogs (actually, a peninsula [1]). On the left, you can see a city ferry boat. Bottom right, a utilitarian platform used by tug boats.ISO 100, 24mm, f/8.0, 3/1s.
This is the Folly Beach, on the east side of the Isle of Dogs. Canary Wharf seen in the distance. A tavern once stood here, and I named a cocktail after it.ISO 250, 27mm, f/5.6, 1/100s.
It was a rare event for the wind to be so low that the surface of the river would resemble a mirror. On this morning, the fog crept across from the north.ISO 100, 35mm, f/7.1, 1/80s.
The smoothest Thames I ever managed to capture with my camera. On days like this one, the atmosphere would be quite North African to me, something about the dry air and the smell.ISO 100, 24mm, f/3.5, 1/4000s.
Christ Church on the Isle of Dogs. It's surrounded by a tiny graveyard, normally locked, where I did manage to get inside once and chat with a more local inhabitant. She explained the ashes of the parishioners still get interred there.ISO 2000, 27mm, f/5.6, 1/100s.
